A Practical الشغلflow for Solving الفيزياء Problems سريعer
Many students lose marks because they jump straight to numbers without confirming the right formula, units, and target variable. A simple problem-solving workflow can improve both speed and accuracy.
Step 1: Identify the Quantity You Need
Before calculating anything, define the final answer format: do you need force in newtons, velocity in meters per second, pressure in pascals, or electrical resistance in ohms?
Step 2: Pick the Correct الصيغة and Known Values
Step 3: Check the Dimensions Before You Trust the Number
Dimensional analysis is the fastest error check in physics and the most neglected. Before substituting anything, confirm that the units on both sides of your rearranged formula actually match.
If you are solving for force, the right-hand side must reduce to kg·m/s². If you are solving for energy, it must reduce to kg·m²/s². When the units do not balance, the rearrangement is wrong, and no amount of careful arithmetic will rescue it.
This catches the two errors that cost the most marks — rearranging incorrectly and solving for the wrong variable — in about ten seconds, before you have invested any effort in the calculation.
A الشغلed Example of the Full الشغلflow
A 1,200 kg car accelerates from rest to 25 m/s in 8 seconds. Find the average net force and the work done.
Step one, identify what is needed: a force in newtons and an energy in joules. Step two, list what is given: m = 1,200 kg, u = 0, v = 25 m/s, t = 8 s.
التسارع comes first, since force depends on it: a = (v − u) ÷ t = 25 ÷ 8 = 3.125 m/s². Then force: F = ma = 1,200 × 3.125 = 3,750 N.
For the work done you need the distance. Under constant acceleration, s = ½(u + v)t = ½ × 25 × 8 = 100 m, so W = Fs = 3,750 × 100 = 375,000 J, or 375 kJ.
Now the part most students skip. Verify the answer by a second route: the work-energy theorem says the work done should equal the change in kinetic energy, and ½mv² = ½ × 1,200 × 625 = 375,000 J. The two methods agree, which means the answer is almost certainly right. Independent verification like this is worth far more than rechecking the same arithmetic twice.

The Four Mistakes That Cost the Most Marks
Adapting the الشغلflow by Topic
The structure stays the same across topics, but the check at each step changes. In mechanics the critical check is sign conventions and the reference frame. In electricity it is whether components sit in series or parallel, since that determines which formula applies before any numbers matter. In optics and waves it is whether angles are in degrees or radians and whether you are working with frequency or period. In thermodynamics it is almost always whether temperature is absolute — using Celsius where kelvin is required is the single most common source of impossible answers.
Exam-Day Quick Checklist
Constant-acceleration problems have their own selection rule that is worth learning properly. See how to choose the right kinematics equation for a decision guide covering all four SUVAT formulas.
Use this workflow consistently, and your physics answers become easier to verify, easier to explain, and much harder to lose marks on.
